Meet Dr. Krekel
Carolina Kids Dentistry is super excited to have Dr. Krekel taking care of all our patients in the greater Charlotte area!
Dr. Kelly Krekel was born and raised on Long Island, NY but has always felt her calling was in the south. She attended Binghamton University for her Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. She then went on to attend Stony Brook University School of Dental Medicine to receive her Doctorate of Dental Surgery where she also graduated with honors. At that time, Dr. Krekel was inducted into the OKU Honor Society, a prestigious organization that is comprised of students in the top 10% of their class. Following dental school, she served as Chief Resident at Stony Brook University School of Dental Medicine’s Pediatric Dentistry Residency Program.
Her goal as a dentist is to guide children and parents on the journey to healthy smiles and healthy lifestyles and, of course, making their time at the dentist an enjoyable and positive experience. Through her own dental journey as a child and teenager, she had admired the compassion and expertise her own providers had bestowed. She strives to exemplify that same level of love for her job and for her patients.
Dr. Krekel and her husband Ryan live in Charlotte with their daughter, Christie. She enjoys cooking, hosting friends and family at home, walks on the greenways, going to concerts and museums, and traveling!
Dr. Krekel is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, and a diplomat of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She looks forward to serving her community and making your child’s visit to the dentist an awesome experience!
