It’s a Mad Mad Mad Mad World at Mint Hill Madness

MINT HILL, NORTH CAROLINA—We were proud to be part of Mint Hill Madness once again this year as our participation reached new heights: our entire staff participated in the Mint Hill Madness 5K!

This year’s race drew a record number of participants.

This annual fall event, which was held Sept. 28-29, attracted a lot of families and children, which made it a great opportunity for us to spread information on the importance of maintaining healthy teeth and gums, says Dr. Bevin Malley, a Mint Hill pediatric dentist.

Each year, Dr. Malley gives away goody bags filled with toothbrushes, toothpaste and dental floss to area children during the two-day event.

“We like to take every opportunity possible to share dental hygiene tips and to make parents aware of the importance of regular dental exams for their kids,” Dr. Malley says. “This is a great venue for doing that, since Mint Hill Madness attracts so many families.”

Our office has participated in this annual celebration since we opened in 2010, and we look forward to being a part of it for many more years to come. This is a true community event in every sense of the word, and we are proud to play a role in it. Carolina Kids Dentistry was a bronze level sponsor again this year.

Mint Hill Madness, which is presented each year by the Mint Hill Chamber of Commerce, celebrated its 30th anniversary this year. The event features live music, a petting zoo, pony rides, martial arts demonstrations, a parade and fireworks, among other activities.

Now that this year’s event has wrapped up, organizers are looking to 2013, and rethinking the event’s general layout, because the old town hall is slated to be converted into the police station.

This will require some changes in where to put events and rides, but one thing will remain the same: we still plan on being a part of this wonderful event that helps bring our community together.
